Roughly translated, Hasta El Fin means >the very last number of the night<, appropriate when you consider this was Gigolos final release of 2009. The A&R process at Gigolo is a constant and very simple formula! If Hell likes it, plays it and gets a good reaction from the crowd then it needs to come out on his record label! No other record fits the criteria more the >Hasta el Fin<. This is a record that featured heavily in Hells festivals and club sets and was played at the end of every after-hour he found himself. But its beginning is a little less finite.
The Genesis came late last year when Oliver Ton invited various musicians for a jamming session. In the spirit of some masterful moments in music Oliver Ton and production partner Ronald Christoph captured something unique sounding with a dance record built largely around a Vocal, Guitar and Piano performance. It was immediately signed to Berlin based WHITE records and assigned the fitting Cat. No. of WHITE999!!!
Hell, an early supporter of both the record and label was smitten, personally requesting the license for Gigolo. Once this was granted he approached Tony Lionni for a remix. For many DJs, including Hell, Tony Lionnis >Found A Place< is without doubt one of the biggest records of 2009. So combining the talents of these two artists would appear to be a no brainer, and the results speak volumes. Taking the vocal hook, layering it over a tough Piano stab and Italo style disco rhythm is the order of the day.

Here comes the surprisingly silver shimmering nu-electronica. We are really happy to welcome JOASH to our roster. Well, the music style here is difficult to compare, we call it: outstanding gorgeous listening music. If someone may know the Penguin Café Orchestra from their most successful period of the early Eighties, perhaps this music can be described as the repetitive 2011 modern electronic version of P.C.O. The album fuses dancefloor sounds and jazz rhythms with orchestral arrangements. The result is a deep and beautiful soundscape of strings, complex drum patterns and atmospheric electronics. Joash is a London based producer who started his musical career as a drummer. Long before he developed a love for dance music, buying early records by Plastikman, Laurent Garnier and other techno pioneers. At the same time, having borrowed a Serge Gainsbourg album from a friend, Joash was blown away by the mixture of jazz and orchestral sounds that still sounded fresh. He started listening to many old maestros including Lalo Schifrin, Krzysztof Komeda and Ennio Morricone as well as more recent acts such as 4Hero, The Cinematic Orchestra or Xploding Plastix. From Jazz artists to Techno producers, all have played their part to influence the music that he produces now. Since his debut track ‘Salome‘ was selected for Compost Record’s highly acclaimed ‘Future Sound Of Jazz‘ compilation, (“Salome“ was played by Gilles Peterson more than one time at his Worldwide show), Joash has been working hard to create his debut album ‘Don’t Fear It, Fight It‘.

With the upcoming release of ‘All I Want’ on Drumpoet Community, the infamous Mr.White will once again be touring europe casually through the months of January, February, and March.

Following the success of his last effort with Phreek Plus One ‘Passion’ released on Compost Black Label, Chad o has been in studio working for future releases. The collaboration between Mr.White and Larry Heard ‘Sun Cant Compare’ was such a huge hit on the underground music scene, and to follow that was such a task.

Still, Mr.White’s voice was heard soon after with Marcus Worgull on Innervisions with the release of ‘Spellbound’ and with JT Donaldson & Fred Everything with “Read My Mind’ on Large Music Chicago.

Known to rock the clubs as a dj and vocalist, Mr.White is one of those quiet killers in the dance music community, preferring to stay underground and enjoy life without the stress of publicity or constant touring. In 2011, he stayed close to home performing vinyl only sets in San Francisco, Portland, and Chicago (Smartbar).

Based in Memphis, TN.. Chad o lived the past year in the heart of the Haight-Ashbury district in San Francisco. That experience living in ‘The Haight’ really made him aware of who he is and who he wants to be… not just a musician or dj or artist, but a real contributor to the world around him, spreading light and love to anyone and everyone who will listen to the music.

Snuff Crew records and tracks came out on great labels like International Deejay Gigolo Records, Rush Hour, Skylax, Playhouse, Poker Flat, Killekill and also on their own imprint Snuff Trax.

With their amazing live shows Snuff Crew already have convinced the audiences in No.1 venues like Berghain (Berlin), Womb (Tokyo), Solyanka (Moscow) or Nouveau Casino (Paris) and also on big festivals like Wire (Yokohama).

Waka Waka! Who doesn’t know these famous words of the worldwide number one hit.

Here is our version of the well known african traditional, using the original „Waka Waka“ chorus, sampled with full permisson in two infectious mixes by Christian Prommer & Alex Barck. This huge hit based on „Zangalewa“, an traditional African song adapted by a Makossa group from Cameroon called Golden Sounds. First released in 1986, the song became such a hit for Golden Sounds, that they changed their name to Zangalewa. The song pays tribute to african Skirmishers (a.k.a Tirailleurs) during World War II and can be translated as „Where are you from ?“.

Christian Prommer and Alex Barck were pleased to get their hands on the original, after they release of their album „Alex & The Grizzly“ on Derwin Recordings. They decided to re-work the original in their own special way: organic and electronic, between techno modernism, afro spiritual, while amalgamating garage sounds like Tony Humphries edit of „Ma Foom Bey“ from Cultural Vibe, or certain tribal elements. They created an idiosyncratic house tune.

We are also very happy to welcome Steffi on Board – as one of the remixers of the track. We are fans of her DJ-Sets, her records on Ostgut Ton and the releases of her label Dolly. For Snuff Trax Steffi delivered a wonderful floating mix of „Clarity“. Shake it down!

PHREEK PLUS ONE – PHREEK PARTY!

Phreek Plus One are Italy’s most kept secret luminaries in the world of disco. They don’t play at
Berlusconi’s secret VIP partys, but they like the Bunga Bunga funk. All in here. Well, they are also
associated with jazz, in fact they are jazz connoisseurs and rare record collectors, and approved selectors,
as a matter of course top Italien mix DJs. Well, they are musicians, too, but never played the dodgy Italian
Acid Jazz, while they were looking for the real cool good Baia Degli Angeli vibe, in fact they are at least
inspired by Garage House, soulful 70ties and 80ties disco, Cosmic, Funk, Soul and Jazz.

Their previous released four EPs on Compost Black Label gained really cult status, while some tunes (for
example like „Bikini“) caused a fuss on the underground disco circuit and their 12“ are still in demand,
heavily played by Harvey, Gerd Janson, Pete Herbert, Tim Sweeney, Chateau Flight, Deetron, Tensnake,
Holy Ghost, Sleazy McQueen, Anthony Mansfield, Permanent Vacation, Munk, Pete Tong, Ray Mang,
Maurice Fulton and many many others (some selected quotes see below)

So you’ll find here their long awaited debut album „Phreek Party“ full of diced and spiced up boogie, funk
house burners, pumping or slick groovin floor fillers, yes soulful disco-fied music, some with sheer blissful
vocal contributions by Mr. White, Ovasoul7, Nasreen Shah or the legendary Antena.
